Immersive Van Gogh – Lighthouse Art Space (Old Town)
Lighthouse Art Space is a new art venue in Old Town dedicated to “merging the boundaries between entertainment and culture.” “Immersive Van Gogh” is a an hour long walk-through digital art experience that will allow visitors to step inside Van Gogh’s world. The exhibit is coming to Chicago February 11th, 2021 with tickets starting at $39.99 for adults and $24.99 for kids.
Superpower Dogs – Museum of Science and Industry (South Loop)
Explore the incredible dogs and their humans who fight crime, protect endangered species, and save lives in natural disasters around the world. In a film at the Giant Dome Theater at the Museum of Science and Industry, you’ll learn about the remarkable abilities of dogs and the science behind those abilities. Screening times are Wednesdays through Sundays at 10:40am, 1:00pm, and 2:20pm. Tickets are $12 for adults and $9 for kids.
Monet and Chicago – The Art Institute (The Loop)
The Art Institute’s 46 Monet paintings and drawings constitute the largest collection of his work outside Paris. In addition to his well known popular pieces, many of his rarely seen pieces are also on display. Visit Monet and Chicago through January 18th 2021.
Can’t make it in person? The Art Institute is operating with limited hours (Thursday-Monday from 11am to 6pm) so they currently have expanded virtual offerings. Check out one of The Art Institute’s many online talks on an array of topics from gratitude, Impressionism, Chicago stories, and the timely talk on isolation, which explores current social questions and current events through a dialogue about art.
