The only thing that rivals summertime in the Loop is the holiday season in the Loop. Whether you’re looking to see holiday lights, the striking architecture, or a little of both, here are some holiday tours to soak up festive holiday cheer.
Chicago Architecture Center Holiday and City Lights
See holiday lights in the Loop with the Chicago Architecture Center. During the 90 minute tour, you’ll learn about the architects who shaped Chicago while seeing the dazzling city lights aboard a double decker bus. Tickets include admission to the Chicago Architecture Center within 7 days of your holiday tour. Tickets are available through the end of the year. The CAC will also be extending it’s holiday season hours on Fridays and Saturdays until 8pm.
Holiday Lights Segway Tour
A segway is a unique way to see Chicago’s downtown Loop. You get a more intimate and thorough look at the city than you would in a car but can cover more ground more quickly than on foot. See Cloudgate, also known as “The Bean”, head down The Magnificent Mile on Michigan Avenue, stop by Christkindl Market, and ride past the Art Institute. Holiday light segway tours run Wednesday through Sunday at 6pm until December 21st.
Chicago Trolley and Double Decker Holiday Tour
The holiday tour bus makes two stops– one at the Christkindl holiday market in Daley Plaza, and another at Lincoln Park Zoo’s Zoo Lights. Each rider will get a pair of 3D glasses, to view Zoo Lights at a whole new dimension, and a bag of Hot Cocoa Caramel Popcorn from famous Garrett’s Popcorn. Private tours are also available.
